Administrator License Renewal
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ADMINISTRATIVE ENDORSEMENT RENEWAL
- One approved Administrator Academy course is required during each fiscal year (July 1-June 30) for any administrator or Teacher Leader who is working at least 50% of his/her school year in an Illinois public school in a position that requires an administrative endorsement.
- In addition, a minimum of 100 hours of professional development is required during the five-year period of the license.
- The Performance Evaluation Reform Act (PERA) also requires ALL evaluators who have taken the initial evaluator pre-qualification training (Growth Through Learning modules) to complete specific Evaluator Retraining Academies within their next five year renewal cycle following the renewal cycle in which they completed the initial online training (105 ILCS 5/24A-3). These Retraining Academies do count toward the annual Administrator Academy requirement. Please see the chart below for more specific details regarding this Evaluator Retraining requirement.
