    WELCOME TO NORTH COOK ISC

Welcome to the North Cook Intermediate Service Center and your Regional Office of Education.

North Cook Intermediate Service Center (ISC) was designated by the Illinois legislature in 2010 to serve as Regional Office of Education (ROE) #5 for north suburban Cook County, Illinois. We are the liaison between the Illinois State Board of Education and our local schools.

    Comprehensive Professional Development
As the local ROE, North Cook provides comprehensive professional development for administrators, teachers, and support staff, such as Administrator Academies, Educator Workshops, Networking and Informational Meetings, Principal and Assistant Principal Mentoring, In-District Educational Consultation Services and Training, and more. Everything we do supports the adults in our schools, who in turn, educate and support our students to have a positive impact on their growth, well-being, and success.

    Resource for Our Districts
We are a key local resource to our suburban North Cook school districts for many things, including Educator Licensure and Fingerprinting Services, School Facility construction, improvements, and safety, and Compliance with state mandates for our districts’ buildings, records, policies, and programs to protect our students.

In addition, North Cook ISC manages School Bus Driver Training for all of Cook County, including Chicago, and is a primary liaison to our schools related to Truancy Prevention and Homeless Students/ Unaccompanied Minors. We also operate an alternative school, North Cook Young Adult Academy, a Regional Safe Schools program for students in grades 6-12 who might otherwise be suspended or expelled from their home school.

    Partners in Education
The North Cook ISC partners with and serves 39 school districts – 32 elementary districts and 7 high school districts – as well as several special education co-ops within our region. What we do impacts 11,600 faculty and the education of more than 147,000 students in north suburban Cook County. We take that responsibility very seriously. Continuous improvement is a core value of ours, and we welcome your feedback about how we can elevate our performance.
