NCISC System of Support (SoS) - Administrator and Educator Quality
Together, the North Cook Intermediate Service Center's SoS team and school staff build
capacity for professional development initiatives where teachers and administrators
meet the specified needs of underperforming students.
Our SoS team can help staff meet "highly qualified" teacher and administrator
requirements through:
- professional development opportunities to increase teachers’ and administrators’ knowledge and application of the Illinois Professional Teaching Standards
- guidance in establishing or improving professional learning communities to enhance instructional practice and increase student engagement and achievement
- staff development that embraces active learning with a system for follow-up and guided
classroom application in targeted areas:
Reading strategies (Literacy,Reading in the content areas)
Math strategies
Strategies for increasing knowledge and understanding in science
Strategies for English Language Learners (ELL), Special Education and other diverse student populations
Classroom management
Differentiated instruction
Assessment
