18 Month Guidelines. The question that often comes up is; "How long is a family considered homeless?"

Program: Though there is no specific duration of homelessness in the federal law or state guideline, there are questions that you may ask to help the family determine whether or not they are in a more stable living situation. You will receive guidelines on how to approach the issue, how to be cognitive of FERPA laws, and how to find additional resources for families that continue to be McKinney-Eligible for extended periods of time.
