About the NCISC

Accountability.

Established in 1985 by the Illinois State Board of Education, the North Cook Intermediate Service Center (NCISC) supports local education professionals by providing comprehensive training and resources to all levels of school operations and staff. While we focus on providing high-quality, affordable, certified professional development programs for administrators and teachers, our commitment to education extends far beyond helping educators keep their credentials up-to-date. Our team of specialists provides customized workshops and trainings, as well as individual consultation, on everything from technology planning to regulatory compliance. Some of our initiatives include:

  • using the latest pedagogical methods and learning tools to help schools develop curricula to improve student performance
  • assisting administrators to effectively integrate technology into teaching and operations
  • presenting innovative programs and tools for dealing with at-risk youth
In addition to training and consulting, NCISC offers lively discussion groups and links to listservs where professionals support one another with ideas and information. Whether helping realign curricula to match new state learning standards, creating gifted education programs, or implementing best practices, NCISC offers expert guidance and ongoing support.
